After three wonderful years, we had decided to bring Rivers to Ocean Kayaking to a close at the end of 2026 as we will both be retired from our careers.
The response to our small, unique business has exceeded anything we could have imagined. More than 1,000 guests, over 400 five-star reviews, and being ranked the #1 outdoor activity in Fort Pierce on TripAdvisor are honors we never expected. But beyond the numbers, we are most grateful for the wonderful people we’ve met and the memories we’ve shared along the way.
As we look ahead, we’re ready for a new chapter with fewer scheduled commitments, more spontaneity, more time to explore our own interests, and the freedom to visit family whenever the opportunity arises. We feel fortunate to be able to make this choice on our own terms, with so much to be thankful for.

Paddle at a slow, unhurried pace along the peaceful shores of Wildcat Cove toward the Fort Pierce Inlet.
This part of the route offers the highest chance of spotting dolphins and larger marine animals, which frequently linger, play, and hunt around the Cove. When the tide permits, you can swim, wade, relax, and explore its shallow sandbars and flats.
At the Fort Pierce Inlet, experience the popular tunnels inside the mangrove forest, learn about its ecosystem, and meet some of its inhabitants. Swim and enjoy snacks on the white sandy shore of the Inlet.
On the return trip, the electric motor lets you relax in your ultra-comfortable kayak lounge chair, stretch your legs, and stop along the way to maximize wildlife viewing.
From start to finish, enjoy sightings of marine life and coastal birds while taking in the scenery of the Indian River Lagoon.
Our tour launches from Pepper Park, across from the Navy SEAL Museum, and passes Little Jim’s and the Fort Pierce Inlet State Park before exploring the mangrove islands near the inlet.

This longer adventure offers greater chances of dolphin, manatee, and coastal bird sightings as it begins inside the Indian River St. Lucie County Aquatic Preserve, following the identical route as our 2-Hour Jungle Tour, a section often described as a hidden Old Florida gem for its quiet mangrove tunnels and untouched scenery.
The tour then continues into tranquil, uninhabited waterways of the Indian River Lagoon and down the Intracoastal Waterway along Jack Island State Park, far from busy marinas and group-tour traffic.
We visit the Dolphin Watch Sandbar, the area known for the highest frequency of dolphin sightings and regular appearances of manatees and stingrays. Guests can swim, wade, relax, or explore the shallow sandflats of this calm estuary environment.
Midway, we stop at Little Jim’s, a historic waterside landmark where lunch and drinks are available for purchase.

Begin with the 2-Hour Jungle Tour, launching from a prehistoric archaeological site within the Indian River St. Lucie County Aquatic Preserve. This area is often described by guests as a hidden Old Florida gem, featuring quiet watery trails and untouched mangrove tunnels without the interruption of high-traffic boat areas, noise, or distractions that take away from the full experience.
Next, continue along our 6-hour Intracoastal route, still inside the aquatic preserve, exploring tranquil, uninhabited waterways of the Indian River Lagoon, including the Dolphin Watch Sandbar, where dolphins, manatees, and stingrays are frequently spotted.
